(VIN-took) - "We have seen a spiritual outpouring of God this year as the new year kicked off another school year along with the start-up of many ministries in Windhoek," writes Team Namibia. "Our youth group is averaging over 130 participants each Friday evening. Recently, after the regular time of hanging out and playing games, the youth worshiped God in a way that we've not seen them do before. It was amazing to witness! Then they listened. Oh, how they listened to the Bible study about replacing Satan's lies with God's truth and using praise and thanksgiving to God as tools to combat Satan's lies! We're excited to be a part of God's movement among the Namibian youth. Please pray with us that Jesus will protect His work among our youth from Satan's destructive plans."
In the past couple of years, language exchanges, English corners, and English Bible studies have proven to be effective ways for meeting new people and sharing the gospel or discipling students and young adults who are interested in practicing their English-speaking skills. However, these English-focused programs are only effective in reaching one segment of the community. For many international students in Seoul, there is a greater need for developing Korean skills to help them study in university classes or get jobs after graduation. With this in mind, some missionaries are starting a Korean corner once a week near one of the local university campuses. Please pray that God will use this new outreach platform to provide more connections with international students and young adults. Pray that He will bring local Korean Christians to help serve in this program and that there will be many opportunities for gospel conversations that lead to salvation.
The Sansoi are an unengaged, unreached people group living in Himachal Pradesh in the north of India, many of them in small villages along the river. Historically, they panned for gold, but they also work as fisherman and laborers. Please pray for near-culture Christians to share boldly among the Sansoi, and ask for the hearts of the Sansoi to be open to the gospel, willing to receive the good news!
(mah-LOO-koo) - Kevin and Glenda have been working with other believers for a year now to see a church planted in the northern Maluku islands. Life there is difficult. Positive responses to the gospel are few and far between. Kevin and Glenda's family on their home island persistently asks them to come home. Pray for them as they seek the Lord's will for their life and ministry. They are trying to discern if they should continue in North Maluku or return home. Please pray for wisdom and guidance.
(JAHR-kuhnd) - Pray for the women across Jharkhand who are believers, asking that they will come to know Jesus more deeply. Pray that they will study the Word each day and be encouraged through the Word to be a part of the work of the ministry, not thinking that only their husbands can do ministry. Pray for the women whose family members are not believers, asking that their families will see the light of Jesus in them and also put their trust in Him as Lord and Savior. Pray that these women will stand firm in their faith and find comfort in the Father when times might be difficult in their home.
While out in the city, two believers greeted Brahim, a North African man, in the local language. He haltingly replied that he didn't know French or any other language that would be helpful for conversing. He seemed relieved that he wouldn't have to struggle talking in a language that he didn't understand. Yet as he turned to go, one of the believers began to address him in his heart language of Arabic. Amazed, he returned and began to talk with the believer. As the conversation turned to the gospel, Brahim used questions to throw off talking about Jesus. However, when the believer patiently explained the reason for the hope that is within, Brahim stopped and listened intently to the message of life. This was the first time that he had heard about forgiveness and eternal life in Christ. Pray that the Lord will grow this gospel seed that has been sown in Brahim's heart. Ask that it will grow in good soil, bringing forth the fruit of faith and repentance in Christ. Praise the Lord that He communicates His message in every language so that the world may know Him!
(ny-ROH-bee) - Members of the Nairobi City Team were sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in a segment of Nairobi with a woman from Burundi, two Kenyan South Asians, a Somali, an Ethiopian, a Nigerian, and several Kenyans. They write: "This city is very diverse. God has brought the nations here for us to share the gospel with them. Pray for us as we bear witness to the King of kings!"
(boh-guh-TAH) - "Last month, a virus swept through one of the displaced shelters, causing much sickness," writes the Indigenous Team Bogota. "Give thanks to God that we had the resources to help them in their time of illness. Pray that God will show us how to minister to the physical needs of the displaced and that He will give us boldness to share the gospel as we are showing the love of Christ."
Please pray for Taj, who has just accepted Christ. He meets biweekly with other believers in Jesus for teaching. Also pray for Ali, a new believer who comes from a rough background and has much to learn. His wife does not yet know Christ, so intercede for her salvation. She has met just once with some believers in Jesus, so pray that she will continue to meet with them and come to a better understanding of the true gospel. Pray John 14:1-2 (ESV) for this couple: "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?" (John 14:1-2 ESV).
Pray for a Muslim young woman named Linda who has recently chosen not to wear a headscarf from now on despite her parent's desires. She has said that she is not quite sure what she believes anymore. Pray that Linda will seek to learn more about Jesus and that her heart will be softened to the truth.
(BANG-ah-lohr) - The stated vision of Bangalore Baptist Hospital is healing and wholeness in the spirit of Jesus Christ. As thousands of patients come, pray that they will receive compassionate physical care, experience emotional comfort, and find spiritual healing. Pray that the staff will actively participate in making this vision a reality.
As the harvest is plentiful across the Asia-Pacific Rim, missionaries there clearly see the vast needs around them and need help in ministering to this massive group of people. A full harvest with limited workers means that many are still without a gospel witness in their lives. Please pray for God to raise up and call out Christians who are willing to relocate and live in places that are not familiar so that those who are walking in darkness will see the light of Christ and be saved.
